Helen May

Helen May has eight years’ experience as an independent writer and editor, specialising in communications projects with not for profit organisations and the higher education sector.

Previously she worked as an in-house professional leading PR initiatives at Kingston University and at the London Borough of Lambeth.

At Kingston Helen headed the press and PR function at a time of unprecedented change as the polytechnic gained university status, attracting both national and regional media attention.

At Lambeth Council Helen worked in one of the most challenging roles in local government PR, fielding up to 50 calls a day from national and specialist media outlets. She was also tasked with promoting positive council initiatives in the local community.

Since setting up May Communications in 1998, Helen has focused on writing copy for a range of publications, including newsletters, marketing leaflets, course guides and annual reports. Helen has a BA in German from Sheffield University and an MA from Thames Valley University.

Paul May

Before joining May Communications, Paul worked in a several management consultancies, leading projects in IT, mobile and e-commerce.

In addition to his current writing projects, Paul is a co-founder of four businesses:

  • Avenida, a software development company
  • Poqit, a mobile applications developer
  • RioBrand, the global brand repository
  • Verista, a technology consultancy
  • Paul has a BA from Oxford University and an MSc from City University.
